On the up-run to the Rio Paralympics, Micky’s house was full of Brazilian flags, To spur him on in his home exercises, In Southhampton: he’s from Edinburgh. He was a Staff Sargent, the Engineers, Fighting in Afghanistan when an IED, Exploded on him to amputate his legs, But 46 operations on he’s a powerlifter. A competitive powerlifter before injury, He was supported by Help for Heroes, Through his rehab to become stronger, Such that the Paralympics did afford. Born on the 24th December in 1978, Micky was identified at a talent day, In Scotland and made 2014 Glasgow, And won the Invictus Games, captain. In 2015 he took gold in the up to 80kg, At the Europeans in Eger in Hungary, Which also won him selection for Rio, Where he aimed at coming under fifth.
