Mickey and Duke go to Sleep - a Sequel

Dodgers in five. Yankee fans weep.
Four times Freddie Freeman went deep.
We hope to see you here
again, this time next year.
Duke and Mickey go back to sleep.

Hello David, My brother-in-law is a huge Yankees fan, and I guess he will be depressed for another year. Well, inked that Mickey and Duke can sleep for another year. Autumn Blessings, MY Friend, Daniel

Hi Daniel. Hopefully, his depression will soon be replaced by dreams of what the Yanks will do next year.

I see they won. Great for them and disappointing for others. Sara K

Yup. It's too bad that how big your payroll is such a major factor - hence Dodgers and Yankees.

It's over? We get a break from spitting, scratching, and posturing for another year. I'm crying my eyes out. Good poem.

Haha, not a baseball fan, eh, Hilda - lol. You'd think I was a big fan, but I actually don't follow it that closely. I listened to most of the world series on the radio because I'm from L.A., but I can't watch baseball on TV - too slow. What I really have fond memories of is playing the game as a kid. I was a true fan back in the late 60s though.

You're going way back with Duke and Mickey. Yeah, I know.

At least I didn't go back to Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig! :-)
