Messy Is a Major Life Skill

My desk is so off-putting no one comes in here.
Even my boss walks gingerly, and jumps at the slightest movement
It could be mice snakes, alligators. I attract the unobvious.
I have taught two of my daughters this secret
A major life skill if you want others to not disturb you,
Not make suggestions, and not burden you with their humdrum noise.

One daughter did not learn this skill.
She cleans, organizes, and puts underpants into drawers.
Much prissier than I would ever be.
Much more friendly.
Weirdly enough, seems to like drop-in company
Which we other three would not abide for a second.

so interesting and one I so relate to. I am kind of in-between: a messy organizer who can't seem to keep it all together long enough until it all piles up again. I have scads of papers all in a bag and finally at the end of the month, I have to sort through all my notes, poems, etc. How many contests have i written on papers and then tossed them in that bag?. OH MY! Love the "unobvious" line

I love it when I open up a notebook and think "which ones have I posted? Which ones have merely been lost? Which ones have I accidentally re-posted? Worse yet "Who wrote these?"

It's a great life skill to look like your actually busy when you're not. Plus. There is something horribly wrong with someone who has a clean desk. You should see mine. Have a great day.

I think they must be seriously ill if I can see their desk and their carpet.

This is like a sharing, a glimpse into Caren and it is precious. I love the philosophy, kinda Erma Bombeck-ish, you know? Drop in company is always, in my case, when my house is at its worst. If you don't want drop-ins, clean your kitchen and toilet - no one will come. OR dress nicely. A joy to read, Caren, and I believed every word! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

It is so true Cay-Cay when I am ready no one is there.
