Mental Healt

An ambiguous term, is it not?
When does this health start to fade?
When does illness begin it's march forward
filling the pathways and crevices
of a once healthy mind, as a snake
slithers towards its prey, relishing
the moment of the strike.

How long can one ignore the unhealthy
thoughts that clutter the mind?
When do they cross that ever so delicate barrier
between societal acceptance and incarceration?
How do feelings of fear and abandonment factor in?
Do these thoughts have to be dangerous
or hurtful to yourself or others to be
considered abnormal
But then again, what's normal?
"The trouble with normal is that it always
gets worse!
