Men Don't Talk

Silent thoughts can cause you so much pain. When holding thoughts like hidden chains. Beneath the surface, there's much to say. With problems that we tuck away. Some men they hold those thoughts inside. Whilst contemplating suicide. Leaving families dealing with pain and loss. A mans life is lost and at what cost? Let us open up too much debate. If it saves a life, then it's not too late. In solace, let's find the power of speech. Make sure your words aren't out of reach. We need to encourage these men to speak. Instead of holding thoughts, discreet. Encourage men to come out of that shell. To encourage them to talk as well. Life can be filled with much frustration. It's pressure's, trial and tribulation. So let's not choose to suffer in silence. Together there's hope in new horizens. There are men that struggle with mental health. Their thoughts are stacked up on a shelf. A subject that holds much taboo. Whilst talk could be that one breakthrough! Tradition says man up, be tough. These times have changed. It's not enough! A stigma we don't need to hide. Encourage men to speak their mind. Together let's make one objective. Whilst putting things into perspective. In talking, we can reach our goal. Release those thoughts, set free your soul. In men, we have so much to say. Speak up, it's okay not to be okay! Remember, men all have a choice. Let's talk, don't be that lonely voice.

Thank Kenisha. Let's pray this time will eventually come. I do feel that men are beginning to open up more and express the way that they are feeling. I appreciate that you have taken the time to read and comment on my poem. Sending love and light. Sean...

Well said Sean, there's always been this taboo where mens health is concerned, it's not manly to seek help you often hear. Sadly for some it's too late. Tom

Too true Tom. Let's live in hope that things do change and men do find it easier to open up and just talk. Thank you for taking the time to read my poem.
