Memory's Sweet Scent

Sweet scent of lilac as the breeze flows through the windows
Setting my senses off, making thoughts now drift off course
I think of those many young days when the family was close
I smile at the thoughts, memories that rush back with a force

Setting my senses off, making thoughts now drift off course
My attention now is on those thoughts of many years before
I smile at the thoughts, memories that rush back with a force
For family, then, was the reason for all the smiles that I wore

My attention now is on those thoughts of many years before
So carefree, my brother still alive, he was my very best friend
I smile at the thoughts, memories that rush back with a force
I only wish, no, I pray, that these memories never ever end

So carefree, my brother still alive, he was my very best friend
I think of those many young days when the family was close
I only wish, no, I pray, that these memories never ever end
Sweet scent of lilac as the breeze flows through the windows
