I pen this poem and think fondly of my departed parents in the afterlife -- my father left in July 1998, and my mother since April 2013 -- with feelings of gratitude and love.

Echoes and chimes
Meet misty mimes
Etch in olde sketch
Moments that match
Blur missing patch

End marks strange start
Rest broken heart
Ink stains word art
Now and Here streams
Glimpse of new dreams
Meet thus new theme

You in times past
Dance with odd cast
Ending at last
Prize the old days
Tryst simple stay
Rest of end play

Touch of plain fare
Explains odd wares
Describe strange cares
Pulse in lost strains
Apt as old pains
Report lost gain

Exit odd fate
Note broken state
Thoughts at the gate
Stillness allots
Sleep beyond plot
Ice cold last slot

Mind gone away
Old textures stay
Notes yesterday
Ask that the light
Niche warm and bright
Dance and dream flight

Ere time slides past
Now frames sad cast
Glimpse truth at last
Nice feel greets grace
Echoes now trace
Opt smiles in place

Note cold drizzle
Rich feel dazzles
Ink stains thus dwell
Quest that prompts tell
Urge in new spell

Embrace due calm
Zeal spreads fine balm
Here in wise psalm
Etch of new hymn
