Memories of Nature

Nature is all around
Was there before me
Will be when I’m gone
You will see

Life ends for us
Nature dies but restores
Ours souls rest above
Nature’s life is
Like before.

I leave, nature stays
It’s that simple and plain,
It’s there for many
All to see
who remain.

It does not belong to you
Nor me
Before us, nature matured
Life for us is short
Wish it wouldn’t’ be.

We are nurtured by nature
Beauty prospers the mind
Creations capture our visions
It’s there to find.

Either a walk within nature’s abode
or standing before
The view which we see
will tell us to stay
For there is more.

No story book written
or Shakespeare’s play
can include all there is
that creates this vista
For us today.

Store your sights and thoughts
as you continue your walk.
Compile them in your mind.
Someday when it’s raining
Stand by your window
The memories will unwind.

Very nice... there are a couple of stand alone stanzas that are first rate. BG
