Memories I Should Have Forgotten

memories in my head come out 
at the oddest times.

when I am just sitting 
I will remember
some odd little thing

 that happened in a
grocery store in 1973, 
or a weird feeling I had
when looking out a window 
of a hotel in 2003.


Things that seemed 
not at all memorable at
the time they happened 

apparently were 
much more prevalent
than I would have
ever believed.

Why I know the
dates is anyone's
guess

Another anomoly

It happens and I think "that was not important in the least, so why am I thinking about it?" but I do not ponder long before something equally inane pops up.

It is like they have taken over my body and know where we are going and what we are about before my conscious mind can keep up.
