Memories From a Younger Day

Moon over Miami, beneath the stars,
Pulsars, quasars…and even Mars -
Lovingly walking, talking, strumming guitars,
A feeling, a moment that thrilled two hearts…ours.
Snuggling, singing, while strolling along,
Moon over Miami,” became our favorite song.
Glittering light in the blackness of night
Shimmering sparkles, a beautiful sight
Delivering freedom, vanquishing fear
Always knowing that your love was near.
The forces of heaven bound beauty to earth.
Uplifting our souls and giving rebirth -
Sending strength at every length.
Inspiring dreams beneath bright beams,
“Moon Over Miami,” a song with lover’s themes.
Whenever you are far, or whenever you are near,
When I look in the sky, my memories hear,
Your baritone voice floating on the salt air,
My mind feels your presence, your essence is clear.
The scent of your musk, I always hold dear.
Moon over Miami I thank you today.
You gave me those memories…from a younger day.

Those are some great memories you have about growing up in South Florida, Dane Ann. There is a play called "Moon over Miami," but I've never seen or read it. This could work well in both Barbara and Deborah's contests. Best wishes for success and I hope you're feeling better now. Love, Carolyn
