Memories Beautiful
Lovely was the dawn I met you, Brother
Shining sun on North Carolina morn
So many years had come without our knowing
Until the day we rode and saw for first
Your eyes reflected innocence of wonder
At seeing your new sister at a glance
Many years passed by like flowing rivers
You were 18.
I only 10 times new
Moments cherished, precious ore
From deep mined mountains
Dad is proud to see his fledglings quickly bond
Such fondness between people
Bred in different wombs
A miracle of future, played out then
And now at 68, I think about the day
The day my father found my missing part
We spit our lives our quickly for the loving share
Memories beautiful that faded with the dusk
Quiet is this morn I feel your spirit
Moving cross the pages of my mind
The many years we had were treasured journeys
Memories beautiful that will not fade in death.
