Memorial Day

Remember those who have fallen
so we may stand in freedom.

Remember our military heroes not with sadness alone
but remember them with love
They gave all, more than their lives
They gave their dreams, hopes, desires
For the faith that it will preserve our freedoms
Fly the flag, visit their gravesites
Give a moment of silence
And enjoy the fun of food and drink
A hotdog, hamburger, toast their memories
Invite your veteran friends and neighbors
Celebrate their memories for who they were
Sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers
Daughters, sisters, wives, and mothers
Remember their wit, humor, and laughter
Memorial Day is more than a day to be solemn
It is a day to be grateful, a day to put a face
a place, a heart on our fallen heroes.
Their ultimate sacrifice grants us liberty
And allows us our pursuit for happiness

Thank you, and God Bless them all.

"Remember their wit, humor, and laughter Memorial Day is more than a day to be solemn It is a day to be grateful," I am glad you added that, for I am the mother of a soldier and I know one thing she always talks about is "keeping my loved ones safe." Perfect poem for today.

Well written. This is a special day. Unfortunately,Spent shopping, watching games on Tv, etc. Their sacrices are forgotten in a world of busyness and food and anything but thinking of the dead. Without them, no, we would not be free. Thank you for a job well done, Panagiota..
