Memorial
Commit my ashes to the howling wind.
Let the voice of silence speak my eulogy.
Leave no memento: no grave nor stone
To memorialize this mortal, earthly form.
But if some monument you must erect
As a token of a reverie you hold,
Then cast it not in marble nor in bronze,
But in golden memories of days we've known.
Perhaps my pilgrim spirit then will pause
To join your tender soul in fond embrace.
Then I, on cosmic wings, will take my flight
Back to that shining land from whence I came.
