Mementos Gathering Dust

Mementos Gathering Dust Small pottery animals and a bowl, a glass etching of a unicorn in a leaded frame and silver chain, drawings of cartoons. Mementos of my sons sit on shelves or hang on my walls gathering dust. Now my grandchildren’s drawings and love letters hang on the refrigerator or my walls. Drawings, love letters, letters from my sons when they were at war and so many more little mementos in a box gathering dust, treasures that were given from the heart. Reminiscence on bits and pieces life keeping mundane treasures- trove 2/27/2015 Contest Name: GATHERING DUST Sponsor: John lawless

My children and grandchildren mean the world to me; they have brought me great joy except when they were at war, or out on their own those times worry played a big part. Your poem of The Snifter brought up memories. Thank you for your visit and your inspiring compliment. Blessings eve

Eve, these are beautiful memories to hold close and every once in awhile open the box, remove the dust on those things on the shelves, keep them close to your heart for one never knows what the future holds and thanks for visiting my poem, I write poems . . .

I am such a pack-rat when it comes to little small things like that. My son that is 45, love to share with his children the things that he had created when he was younger. Now he is doing the same thing with his. We are just special people, Andrea. We just love to love

As usual you have managed to capture human frailties and emotions and weave them into a poem that is easy to relate to and understand. Good work. Emile. #7
