Ochre handprints of Neolithic art, from ancient caves

contest- Memento on the Moon -sponsor Suzette Richards

When everything is said under the sun I'll leave a memento on the Moon a vivid portrait of what man has done with blood-soaked landscapes and bodies strewn from Ochre hand prints to our lust for carnage on our journey towards insanity living in the shades and shadows of our garbage where we've lost the soul of our humanity the Earth will cry, the Earth will moan our souls will rise on the smoke and flame to dance in the air from the bombs we own maybe, the dark side of the Moon will hide our shame

I got Goosebumps when reading this the first time (when it landed in the contest inbox). The raw emotion shines through in every line; a well founded despair of human’s destructive nature. What happened to the instruction to care for all? The handprints (found in a cave in Spain) is a poignant reminder that we innately reach out to our fellow man – time is indeed running out for us to put to rights what we are destroying and no more discussion is going to fix it: ‘When everything is said under the sun’. Congratulations on your 2nd place win, Frederic.
