Melting

i wasn’t always
like this
my flesh burned
my desire for you

you with hands
that covered mine
melting me
my hard swallow
of what
i could never have

i remember
the last glance
flames you denied
instead threw on me

you turned cold
out of survival
out of guilt for
other’s sins

you numb
safe with your numbers
hanging on a net
well above the flames
our flames

like i said
i wasn’t always
like this
my flesh scarred
my embers of you

Hi there Rosemary.. Another day, another airport. So how do I fight the long sit and wait? Your incredible write of course! You made my delay sing with your creativity!! Come see me if you get a chance.. I'm releasing a secret!
