Melody of Solitude
Surging stream meanders in the carved valley
Concert of murmur cascades melody on sculpted rock
I place my ears on the ripples of the whistling air
but the sound of music flies past me unpereived.
Summer rains splash in torrent the parched tree
The rhythm of aria echoes on the dancing leaves
I keep my subtle senses alert in the scene
but the symphony fades away far unheard.
I try but can’t relate to these sounds
For these are out of sync for me
Dissipating in the depth of silence.
From the cacophony of distraught clamor
Voices return unheard to where they came from
For the stark reality remains hidden unsaid
In the unreachable abyss of the marooned minds.
On the misty path lost in the winter wilderness
Feelings freeze like sleet on the trail unwalked
The buds of emotion wither away unblossomed
in the forlorn frigid crevasse of the glacial hearts.
I try to reach out to all these cold people
But their frosted faces drift away like formless cloud
Beyond the sky of silence.
On the wave lashed shore of life
The palace of yearning I try to build
With sands of time borrowed from eternity
No one comes in, it collapses in the sea of oblivion.
Detached, I hear the divine melody of solitude
Resonating the tune of supreme soul within me
With the sound of silence.
