The air’s chill grows stronger. I wrap myself in melancholy as crisp nights grow longer. As summer’s magic fades, sunsets paint skies red. Soon multi-hued bright leaves to earth will fall Sept.14, 2021 For the Merse - Beauty of Fall Poetry Contest of Malabika Ray Choudhury Submitted Dec. 28, 2021 for the 'STRAND NO 1042' Poetry Contest

Congratulations Andrea on your top win. Indeed, for all of autumn's beauty, there is a sense of the "melancholy" as summer passes through fall to winter - a true season of transition! Sending you a bounty of blessings!

Nicely done, Andrea. No Autumn here in Sarasota but the Spanish oak's leaves do turn a gray/brown color and eventually fall. I do miss the color of autumn. Good luck in the contest. ...Fran
