Meekness Runs On Diesel

The sun will shine brighter tomorrow when...
If you’re thinking meek is weak, you might be wrong.
We all know "peace and love" kind of people.
Check out their fuel you will learn that they’re strong
They do not argue what's good with what's evil.
“Meek” combusts from inside, working hard and long;
I’ve discovered that meekness runs on diesel.
Humility's patina shines from within.

Thanks, Gershon for the comment. Three quarters of a century sounds rather old. My grandson turned the number candles around on the cake and made me 57. Wish I felt 57.

I'm with Phillip...love the "meekness runs on diesel" line. Very good treatment of the theme with the tricky Triolet form. Thanks for entering the contest.

I always wondered who would want to inherit the earth? But then I read that there will be a new heaven AND a new earth someday, an earth worth inheriting. Thanks for the interaction with my piece.

HOw I wish I had had your ability to survive a public school classroom. I could be retired and living it up now. Me oh my!!! You are now free of it all (the bad part anyway) YOu can have good memories of the good days!

To answer your question, I'm thinking diesel combusts from within and needs no external ignition. Also as I understand it, diesel has a higher boiling point. Have a great day!
