Meant To Be

Softly I surrender
to the whisper of your lips,
the longing sighs
asking if our love is
meant to be
Melting before
the alluring beauty
embracing my eyes
while delicate fingers
trace my desires…
I answer breathless,
Yes, my darling,
I truly believe
our love is
meant to be
Taking your silken hand
gently in mine,
the warmth comforts
as does the smile
blooming on your face...
you rest your head
upon my shoulder
and I know you know
I mean it
I too smile as
lingering affection
gathers within my heart
amidst a waking dawn
of sunrise devotion
as night turns to day
and I cherish this moment
lost within your arms,
falling helplessly beyond
pastel horizons of a
shimmering forever
meant only
for us
