Meaning of Easter
It’s Easter time in the uk but what do kids know of this day?
When Jesus rose up from the dead, they’re watching bunnies play instead.
Stuffing down their Easter sweeties, with not a thought of diabetes.
It’s doubtful they’d know what is meant, by shrove or ash or even lent.
In times gone by a season when, we’d fast and life renews again.
But the day has altered connotations, hijacked by Hallmark and the big corporations.
Instead of rebirth, love and peace, it’s consumerism, toys and sweets.
Still happy Easter in whatever you do and whatever this day means to you.
