Meandering the Forest
since a child, I have been one with earth
and green winding tendrils have captured my heart
I would follow my father with innocent mirth (and)
a love for nature has been mine from the start
into the deep, earthy green we would journey
O, I still hike forests and feel that deep connection
meandering, I caress the green, mossy and ferny
often dropping to my knees for a better inspection
the fallen leaves and flora lay in decay
and wildflowers call my name to gather a bouquet
