Me Too

You have no concept of shame
You apologize for fun
Because that is what is expected to be done
Embarrassed you are not
You leave a message after the dot
Shaking at the start of every other day
It's not what you say
Its just the beginning of another day
Is not you is the excuse set on default
What's the point
But I am starting to question
My own sobriety and mental state
I think it's going to be me rather than you
First to fall
Because I am living this for us both
And I am struggling to cope
But you can't see what this is doing to me
Because to you this is normal
But it is only me stuck in the present
What am I to do

Its my cross to bear
You are to out of it to care
Its not fair
But I am your surviving heir
Next of kin on the contact form
To an Addict born
But the future is torn
Between what is best
Not for you
But for me
And I can't see the glass for the bottles
Or an end to ways
Or better days
Without urine on the stair's
And wake smoke drink pass out
On the living room couch
And you spitting into a glass
But this is today
Same as yesterday
And tomorrow
Hell of a way to live
But nothing gives
In the house where the bottle lives
Me 2
Me 2
