Me in Three

Part One — What I Love

I love my voice because it rises true
a cadence shaped by everything I pushed through.
I speak from scars, from triumph, from the grind,
from Harlem nights that sharpened up my mind.
My words hold echoes of the roads I’ve walked,
a style all mine; unfiltered, soul-talked.

Part Two — What I Regret

I regret not heading to school with my class,
letting doubt convince me I should finish last.
I could’ve been an author long ago,
signing books beneath a spotlight’s glow.
But life rerouted me, and still, I stand,
rewriting chapters with my wiser hands.

Part Three — What I Envision

I see my degree becoming my steady flame,
the spark that pushes me to claim my name.
I’ll publish something honest, bold, and new
even one book proves what a dream can do.
Because time can bend, but destiny won’t break:
I’m proof it’s never too late to create.
