W. Thomas Markham Poet Free verse

Me

People hide
in the Shadows
like rabbits;
however, I hide
in plain sight.

No one sees me—
the way—
it should be
because if they see me,
they die.

I wish
that I didn't have
the ability to scare them
to death.

All I want is to have
a group of friends
that are immune
to my ability.

I think one day 
that I will find someone
to stand by me,
or maybe I will not…
