Despite how terrible it may seem
Something within wants to hold on
Even when it seems unbearable
Something within keeps you going
Because the being is beyond the flesh
Above the mind that accompanies the flesh
The one that owns the body and mind
The pain is limited to flesh and mind
The joy of life lives in the two aspects
The real essence lie above them both
The aspect superior to both of them
There is no pain without accompanying lesson
There is no joy without associated sorrow
There is a part of us that knows the sequence
That aspect sustains through thick and thin
Keeping us intact when the mind and flesh fail
