Maya
Love comes in a small bundle
Of the sweet smell of Maya
The end of the world some have said
Oh how wrong are all the gods
Maya, is the beginning
Of a new world
Her smile alone, a star upon us
She hungers only to love the world
I am humbled, by her beauty
The simplicity of her grasp
As she holds my finger in delight
She is the Angel of the darkest night
She was born under the star of Christmas
Early she was, but right on time
She laughed her way into my heart
She is truly the second coming
I sat with Thaddeus on that day
He was curious, of his sister to be
And so we talked, like two old men
Of life and donuts, and do zombies dance
If you ever wonder, why we humans care
Look into a babies eyes
The answers stare back
There is no asking why
Maya from heaven, I am sure was sent
A year has passed
The world still turns no end in sight
As I light a single candle this special night
I wish the world to be yours Maya
Happy Birthday!
