May I Join You?

The sun has come down,
because you went away,
the night is dark, no moon, no stars,
and the rain falls down on me
as I stand in the dark pantiently wait for you,
with your picture in my hand
and you stare at me as my world collides;
I will never forgive him for taking you away
I'm left alone, scared, haunted, loved by you;
If they say you're at a better place, may I join you?
