May God bless the drive thru's

Several weeks in to this healing journey. Grateful of course, there was no gurney.. Now waiting for these bones to knit. It's challenging for me to quietly sit. Wheeling around my condo floors, the metal stripping's are loose once more. My wheel chair clunks on the foyer tiles. Some days my arms feel they've walked several miles.. I amble to my car with my walking stick, to run a few errands lickity split. I'm grateful for drive thru's, those places one can just pull up to: drive thru pharmacy to pick up my meds, drive thru star bucks to clear my head, of course the fast food options too. May God bless the drive thru!! Still striving hard not to succumb to my some days emotional pendulum.. Five weeks down, five more to go, the healing process is painfully slow.

Hang in there Nancy, I never thought I'd walk pain free until I had my op. Don't need my stick anymore. Be patient, you'll get there. Tom

Dear Nancy, I just loved this reflection on the challenges of healing and the simple blessings that ease the journey. You have artistically shown the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of gratitude amidst adversity. I also love how your words evoke empathy and admiration for your strength and perseverance. May God indeed bless the drive-thrus that offer convenience and comfort during difficult times. - Blessings always my Friend! - Daniel

I amble to my car with my walking stick, to run a few errands lickity split…oh the contrast. …I yearn to do things lickety split…why oh why do pains have to slow me down! … May God bless the drive thru!! …Heal quickly, dear poet! Hugs ~ Kim

Hi Kim, I appreciate your visit and yes it is short local quick errands, as too many drive way above the speed limit and I am fearful of any further injury. Also pain meds. make me a bit loopy. Some things still need to be done when one lives alone regardless. Thanks for your kind words and thoughts my poet friend, much appreciated my dear

I hope this is fiction. It is not pleasant to go from one place to another in a wheelchair. Otherwise an intriguing poem.

Hi Victor, F.Y.I. in home wheelchair. Walking stick on grass to car for short drive thru's as needed. I always thought people were wasting gas and being lazy before my accident happened when they used drive thru's. It's a necessity in some cases I now can see. Thanks for the visit.
