Matthew Five Thirty Nine
It says, "...not to resist an evil person."
that means let the evil do freely so;
though the bad may come by the dozen
keep quiet, let your head be bowed so low.
It says, "...turn the other cheek."
that means let the bad hit again;
it's difficult, and i know it smells and reeks
trust the Lord to fill the blame.
Sadly, these are things a Christian gets
though thou may love thy neighbour;
these are purification and lots of tests
keep forgiving, the wrong do not harbour.
Keep thy focus on the Lord
pray for deliverance, pray for help;
He is Faithful, the Son of God
the Devil beaten, all has He dealt.
This journey is fraught with untold bends
how long it lasts, only He knows best;
it's like a match that doesn't end
keep prayers near, God does the rest.
Till the day the Lord shall come
in His Words keep close to heart;
when all is new, His Kingdom come
God with us, to never part.
* Matthew 5: 38-39 states:
verse 38: You have heard that it was said,
"an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth."
verse 39: But i tell you, not to resist an evil
person. But whoever slaps you on the right
cheek, turn the other to him also.
Amen.
