Matilda

Sadness hits our shores
Terrorism strikes again
Innocent lives lost
Bondi shootings took her life
Young ten-year-old ‘Matilda.’

How can this happen?
Families now mourn their dead
Our country mourns too
Hatred in our world must stop
Let no more Matildas die.

Governments must act
We must learn to live in peace
Mankind must change ways
Her memory must remain
Matilda is now our face.
