Mates For Life
He soars and roars in robust and majestic might,
he never knew that life would take him through this flight,
and on the cliffs of the mountains he sees the light,
of taking off into nothingness in the night.
He knew one day his mate would fly out of his sight,
but his talons grasp the rock and he starts to fight.
His love used to be so tender and a delight,
she showered his golden feathers, was so polite.
She was the princess of the cliff, he was the knight,
and if only one more escape they’d be alright,
because when gliding up high their love does ignite.
sweet Bald Eagles should mate for life and hold on tight.
