Matador

disjointed efforts pulling sinews apart
inside the coliseum of sexual contest
an ensanguined sheet is waved
relentlessly taunting the stubborn beast

their saline soaked hides
give meaning to the matador's intent
without spilling the bull's blood
he sighs with lament
