Notes About The Poem

Wishing and still hoping.

Master Kung Fu Within An Hour

I have always been a fan of Kung Fu and Brue Lee
I so wanted to Learn the art and looked around for lessons
But although I travelled far and wide I found none not one for me

Disheartened that instead of becoming a master
As I had dreamed about it since childhood
It was a complete disaster

Then one day out of the blue
I was looking at the back of a Kung Fu magazine
Something caught my eye and my imagination too

It was an ad which read '' Master kung Fu within an hour''
I just couldn't believe it could be true.?
But I sent five hundred bucks to a post office box
Somewhere In Timbuktu

About a week later I received a packet
With no return label or return address
I begin to think is this some kind of racket?

But I couldn't wait to get it open and see
What was inside waiting
There for me

Inside was a Kung Fu Suit way too small
With instructions written in Chinese on what to do
Also included was a chart with Kung moves I couldn't work out at all

Funny it came with a jar too?
The instructions read
'' Go out into the garden wearing your new suit of navy blue''

So I did go into the garden as it told me to do
But the Kung Fu suit was so small and tight I couldn't move
And I was getting frustrated too

I unscrewed the lid on the jar
Unexpectedly and suddenly
I was attacked by a swarm of angry bees how bizarre?

It was a scam and a sting alright
As I first thought it would be
I was covered in hundreds of bee stings ouch! that night

I hope this will warn you to think carefully
That you can't learn an ancient art within an hour
And you may never be Bruce Lee.

LOL Pete. Tae Kwon Do was my thing - green belt before I stopped. These days I stick to Tai Chi. LOL I do love watching Bruce Lee. :)

Ha! That was quite a few years ago. I couldn't do much more than defend myself these days Pete. ;) I am envious of your adventures with knowing Bruce through so many fascinating venues. His technique, jeet kune do, highlights his talents. A charismatic figure showing humor, speed, and gracefulness. So sad about his and Brandon's short lives.

Hi Linda, I'll not mess with you then. Impressed. I used to do Chi Kung similar to Tai Chi I used to do Wing Chun Kung Fu. and actually did Brice Lee style to.I have met two of Bruce's close friends, and training partners. I also, met, one of Bruce's original students from 63 to 73. And also talked to someone who was in the army, when he was Young, serving in the jungle, He watched Bruce training for the movie he was doing. And, I had a chance to meet Bruce's wife Linda, and daughter Shannon. Bruce was also a poet. Apart from all of that.I know little about him, apart from being able to do a one-inch punch, thank you take care, Pete,.

Awe bless I'm impressed. Thank you. I have done both. Kung fu Wing Chun, kickboxing, Bruce Lee Jeet kwon Do. Not really a fighter, but a lover, although I don't get any love, so I might as well be a fighter. Have a Good week. Pete.
