Masquerade

Masquerade
By MEH3

One soul
Two faces
Behind the mask you wear
Hiding from the real you
Trying to figure it out
Living in doubt
Thinking you have it all figured out
Until you looked in the mirror
not recognizing the reflection that is there
Adjusting the frame
Only to realize the mask was still there
Oops, there we go (as you remove the mask)
Refreshing to see the real you
At least I thought
I guess that is the person I feared
The real you
The one who doesn't care
What happened to your heart
The kind, gentle you
Hold on, do not go
turning your back on me again
Oh there you go
As the mask reappeared
What a beautiful smile
that seemed to be there
A loving soul
Would you like to stay for a while?
Let's converse
since I have you here
Wait, why so angry now
Is this a curse
Thought I found my queen
Then I noticed
This was a Masquerade Ball
