Masks of Everyday
We know this world is quite corrupt,
but to exactly what extent?
Can you believe religion lies?
Or that the preachers don’t repent?
We’re brainwashing our youth,
yet we expect that they will lead;
Minds too constricted to explore,
can’t walk the paths that will succeed.
Society is condemned, by its humanistic flaw;
The need to either follow, or to re-create the law.
If you don’t have the wealth to lead,
are you nothing more than dust?
And if your morals aren’t astray,
will co-leaders take away their trust?
We plunge into the crowd,
and wear the masks of everyday;
Silently we build escapes,
and dream of lands away.
