Don’t you recall those nights two years ago with the stars above? I thought I saw a pair of angels And you claimed they were gone. “What do you collect on the way?” “Just the white round rocks”, That was what you said, Hiding your hand in your sleeves. Fear not, Herod, the king is faraway, Can’t you listen how distant Is the howling of the children? Only blood is left in Bethlehem… That night I had only disbelief Once I crossed the threshold Of the manger and saw you play With a baby in your maiden’s arms… Then a star joined us in celebration…
