March For the 4th of July

O patriots, listen to the march! Souza was the all time master Music for young and old alike Just makes the heart beat faster.. Uniforms, bands, and waving flags Toe tapping, thigh slapping beat Love of country and our freedoms Rhythms that bring you to your feet.. Perhaps if we listened to more marches And didn't think it terribly odd As a country we'd feel much better And once again be a "Nation Under God".

Yes. Listen to Sousa, but don't think about all the killing going on. I used to love to listen to the City Park Band when I was a kid. My favorite march is not by Sousa, but by, I think, Bagley - National Emblem - "Oh, the monkey chased his tail around the flagtpole." Love your ideas. Love, daver

The parades promote unity and that is much needed in our country today, dear friend. I hope you will be marching in good form this weekend, fellow LNC. Enjoyed the patriotic quality of this poem very much! Love,Carolyn

This is excellent, so excellent, and I just love it! It flows with such grace and reverence for our patriots and liberators. I will be attending the parades today and smiling to the music while waving the Red, White and Blue. Great job! Joseph
