My inspiration for this poem came from a deep admiration for the quiet, persistent effort of those who commit to the long haul. Life's challenges and triumphs often feel more like a marathon than a sprint. It requires a different kind of courage—a steady, patient pace, an unwavering commitment over time, and the inner fortitude to keep going even when the finish line seems distant.

Listen to poem:
It's easy to find those who'll sprint, To the end, with a heroic gleam, But to run the long race, With a steady, patient pace, Is a rarer and more noble dream.
