Many, Many Long Years Ago
Since time began her silver light
Escorted footsteps through the night.
Serenely still, her face would glow,
Many, many long years ago.
Romantic lovers praised her worth
To see her smile upon the earth,
And eulogies would freely flow
Many, many long years ago.
From east to west she made her way
Before the dawning of the day.
Now climbing high, now stooping low
Many, many long years ago.
Her countenance still shone with grace
When humans touched her lunar face
And gazed upon the earth below
Many, many long years ago.
