Mantles of Wonder
I laid down my pen
and got on my knees
not to pray for any great miracle
but in remembrance
of the mantle of wonder …
and the O so beautiful world
that had finally draped around my shoulders,
like the seamless gown of Christ
its shelter and natures redemption,
embraces all
It goes on as the trees forever reach
and flowers gape their spring smiles
again and again, her seasons like
whims,
with the scamper of possums
inscribing the testaments of earth
their pawed initials, sincerely ours
leaving a sea of scrolls landmark-ed
eternally
as the whiteness of waves filigree our shores
and the rugged mountain ranges their peaks
shine like crowns
oh this beautiful world …
shes the daughter mother,sister
within those arms she has born us all
