Mandala

Time goes on,
Until it fades.
Victorian homes
Have now erased.

The world is spinning
We start forgetting
Everything begins to change
As we feel ourselves slipping away
Somehow we manage to stay
Just for another day
Because deep down,
Some things always remain the same.

The old is never truly gone…
It is simply buried deep inside
Hiding from the new world
The world that has made you new

As we adapt to our growth
Our old personality
Disappears from our reality
But it will always a part of yourself
Even though they are someone we no longer know

At times we feel so full of emptiness
When it is only the little things staying the same
While the rest of us continues to change
We look in the mirror and remember you
But it is not the same you, you’re looking at
That makes us sad, looking back
Realizing you don’t know who you actually are
You thought you knew yourself, but turns out it was a big lie

But nothing ever stays the same
Everything evolves and we begin to change
We adapt to the new ways
And at first you won’t understand
Confusion will overwhelm you
You will notice your imperfections
And all the things you wish were different
But that is okay
Imperfect is your new way
That is what makes perfection
