I hope they are making a comeback. Too many of them have suffered fatal injuries from boat propellers.

I recall episodes of the manatee on the history channel...their scars and plight...how sad... and for you to bring them back to life; in mine eyes dear poet...how greatful I am ! Great write my friend ! Congratulations to you ! much love, james

Lucky you to have seen the Manatee, Carolyn! I saw one once near a camping zone in Florida, and yes it "evokes joy".:) A beautiful thought, to write a Haiku for this splendid creature. Good luck in the contest! Love, Mikki

Carolyn, you have such diversity in your poetic prowess. Loved it. Thanks for your comments on Granfather's Clock poem. I heard the song when a child some 70 years ago, but of course I re-engineered the circumstances to make it my own.

Manatees are a really endangered species. They are also existing in the waters of Papua New Guinea. Best of luck in Carol's contest and have a great week!...Love, Gert

I think Manatee is a rare animal with rounded tail I have once seen in Florida in 1998. Caroly. How are you? I hope you are fine.
