Notes About The Poem

This is limerick 4 of 11 running for eleven days. Eroding a democracy occurs in a variety of ways. One includes making voting harder for those opposed to you (thanks to our Russian counterpart for some great ideas on how to rule permanently like a TSAR.) As more and more people indicate dislike for D.T.'s policies, the importance of rigging the system grows for those who believe only they should have power. Wouldn't America be GREAT if those in charge could stay there forever?

What do you get when you put two dictators together? Rule by terror where power is centralized by extreme oppression.

Hi Lin! Yes exactly. We get an infantile dick-tater tot with too much power and no idea of the limits to his own certainty. Since only he has the answer to everything, we're going to be play things for our King until we're not. I am uncertain of the end game in this recipe since not that many people seem to be protesting all this. Meanwhile, hope you are well and we have to smile!!

Hi Anne-Lise. It looks pretty bad indeed. Our constitution determines numbers of seats in the US House of Representatives based on the number of people in each state. Deporting people from states that didn't go for Trump makes it more likely the same people can remain in power even if a majority of citizens actually vote against them. Everything we're seeing is about taking control and finding scapegoats to please Trump's base. It reminds some of us of things that have happened in the past. Take care and smiles!!
