Majestic Lighthouses

A lighthouse stands proudly
Throwing light at all angles
Looking like it stood forever
Taking in all the elements
Beautiful is the lighthouse
Majestic is its glorious form
Perfectly serene when all lit up
Timeless when there’s light
Living within the heart of it
The lighthouse carries no fear
For it has withstood everything
That has been thrown at it
It’s an honor to behold one
Deep within its prime years
Watching for the nightfall
And keeping sailors away
Beauty, fascinating and breathtaking
Many that see are in awe
Lighthouses are still sovereign
And the light within still shines

Yes, I love lighthouses too, my friend. Beautiful write. We have a 'retired' lighthouse here in Plymouth - it was deconstructed and rebuilt on land as a tourist attraction

Enjoyed your lighthouse verse this evening, Russell..love the old lighthouses on the eastern seaboard..wonder if any were lost in the hurricaine. Many are national historic sites. Blessings, Gwendolen

And beautiful is your free verse, I love lighthouses, there is something haunting about them, Russell, dear heart, thanks for reading my poem "Stream" actually it is not an Acrostic although I know it looks like one, it is called Name, it is on this site's list of forms and in the case of my poem, I made it also a personification without actually realizing it so I am calling it Name/Personification. thank you so much for commenting on my poetry, I so appreciate that~~
