"The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind."-- Caroline Myss

Close up in the depth of my soul, I wonder why, Loneliness grips me, leaving me to cry, Partners came and partners went, Leaving me in an empty nest, feeling spent. Loneliness suffocates, a heavy weight, Leaving me longing for a soul mate, Microscope on this lingering pain, there lies a cure, A path to healing, to love, and to endure, Close up on pain, embrace solitude, a chance to grow, Discover yourself, let your inner light show, Microscope on solace in passions and dreams, Build a life that’s vibrant, bursting at the seams. Close up on challenges, a mountain to climb, Microscope on resilience, enduring through time. Examine the tears, each one a pearl, Close up on strength, in the face of the whirl.

What a clever way to address that theme. I did not have a clue what to do. Great job

A very poignant outpouring of the heart that suffers from the pangs of loneliness. At times we long desperately for a soulmate to share our sorrows and aches. But we can silence the inner agonies by training our mind and then our inner light will shine making pain turn into pearls. May God comfort you dear friend.

Jay, I wish I could say it gets easier. My prayers are with you. I am very fortunate my husband, 15 years ago moved me next door to my brother (a gentle soul) just in case something would happen to him. My 2 sons were not about to see us move without them coming with us (they made a be sacrifice), but God has blessed them. Thank you for sharing this lovely poem. Hugs Eve

sensitive, poignant, and wise words, Jay. I enjoyed the Carolyn Myss quote. I've read a couple of books and found them helpful and enlightening. Close up, yes, challenges can seem like a mountain to climb...but they give us all strength...if we can become silent and examine our pain...easier said than done sometimes. What a profound and insightful read. Have a pleasant evening, Sara
