Urban Sonnet
Invented by: Laura Loo. Sonnet form, with 10 syllables per line and a rhyme scheme of: ABABBB- CDCDDD- EFEFFF-GG
Close your eyes, let dreams dissolve doubts and fears,
morph into a mighty eagle, and fly
away from broken promises and tears.
And allow sleep to lift your spirit high;
for in the realm of dreams, an open sky
holds endless possibilities to try.
Take a ride on a gentle, tranquil breeze,
and reserve this enchanted time for play;
be a thistle tuft, float above the trees.
Don't let reality stand in your way
swim the Milky Way, star in a ballet,
or cruise down Fantasy's superhighway.
Fly to where all of your wishes come true;
a private place where worry does not rule
and you're free to be anyone but you.
Shuck the dead weight of shame and ridicule;
let dreams mold you into a king or fool,
imagination is the perfect tool.
Dreams are portals to magical places,
the sandman creates and then erases.
