Maggots
Wars are caused by politicians
Who then cower at the rear:
Wars are fought by soldiers from
Patriotism, duty, or plain fear
Of the consrequences if
They just refused to go.
If they all had the courage
To just stand and say no,
To be made examples of,
To be imprisoned or worse
Or the many other threats
They would use to coerce,
Would those same politicians
Go fight their own fight
Or would they rather talk to
Peacefully put things right.
They speak their fine words
That most despicable brood
Then prepare to fight to the
Last drop of another’s blood..
Our heads should hang in shame
For allowing ourselves to be led
By that breed of maggots who
Feed on the remains of our dead.
Every man and woman is fallible
But that is no excuse
For any Politician’s cynical
Open disregard and abuse.
Power without responsibilty is
Currrently what it’s all about:
The Law should be updated to
Bring past Leaders to full account.
