Magdalena Number 5

“MAGDALENA #5” if you ever travel to the hills of Woodland, where canyons wrap around Topanga, in the region of the valley, listen for the echoes of my footsteps. the sounds as I search for the one for me, the love of my life. if you see her, look at the way she's done her hair, see if it's down. that's how she knew I loved it, that's how it was the day my footsteps echoed through the hills. if you ever travel through the canyon where my true love lives, if you ever travel through the canyon where she watched me walk away, make sure she's smiling, even if it isn't because of me. I want her smiling, even if I sit here crying. if you ever travel to the hills of Woodland, where canyons wrap around Topanga, in the region of the valley, tell the love of my life, I love her. if you ever travel to the hills of Woodland, where canyons wrap around Topanga, in the region of the valley, listen carefully, you'll hear the echoes of my footsteps. they wander with no exit, dying while waiting, for the love of my life to return.
