Mach 1

Massive engine roaring like a dragon of yore
fat tires like its talons, gripping, grasping
surely tearing a deep strip of pavement
as we leapt away, freed by the red tyrant
towards the mysteries through the green

What thunderous roads you must run on now!
You lived and left with such speed, old friend
leaving us to feel the wind and see the smoke
from those tires, as you raced away towards
the destination that only one like you, could see

Well penned tribute to your friend. Words of condolence are never quite enough in the instances, but you do have mine. ((HUGS)) ~jan

Thank you so much, dear friend. I saw a picture this morning of a car my friend had owned when we were both young that inspired me to write.
